Avant was honored by the European Business Assembly this week after receiving their renowned award for Best Enterprise. Chairman and CEO, Antonio Varghese, also walked away with the Best Manager award at a high profile event held at the Institute of Directors in London. Etisalat and Pacific Controls announced their partnership aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of the UAE by up to 30%. The event, held under the patronage of H. E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed Mohammed Bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, rolled out at the prestigious Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi. The Green Dubai World Forum 2008 united key decision makers from around the world at The Atlantis Hotel, Dubai to discuss sustainability and environmental problems, and to find possible solutions. The two-day forum held under the patronage of H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was attended by Mr. F.W. When Pacific Controls launched its Dubai headquarters it became the first LEED Platinum rated green building in the Middle East and only the sixteenth of its kind in the world. The building was inaugurated by H.E. Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of the Federal Government of the United Arab Emirates and Executive Chairman of Dubai Holding. The event was attended by senior officials and dignitaries and confirmed Pacific Controls’ commitment to sustainable development.
